Bonjour à tous, une simple information pour ceux qui utiliseraient encore des produits type Dichlorobenzene, creosote ou encore pyrethre dans leur fioles de sauvinet (tous plus ou moins toxiques à long terme).
pour ma part j'utilise depuis une dizaine d'années les produits suivants à base d'huiles essentielles et je n'ai jamais eu de problèmes de parasitage:
> huile ess. d'eucalyptus (Eucalyptus citriodora)
> huile ess. de thym à thymol (Thymus officinalis) un peu plus cher
> Carum copticum (Trachyspernum amni) le plus avantageux au niveau du prix.
Ces produits ne présentent aucun caractère nocif par inhalation à long terme. |

Thank You. I use thymol and sometimes products on the base Permethrin (Aspermet, Afanisep). Thymol is protection for wet materials against mold.
Here https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S030881460300534X I found "The results show that, in Iranian C. copticum oil, thymol is a major
component.". So, again - thymol is the best. |

Do you believe only the crystals into a container will work?
I try to dilute the crystals with olive oil (50:50) and it seems Ok, but I'm not sure if it will be effective. This formula is used by the bees farmer to control varroa.

Hi Sergio, in fact I don't know how to prepare essential oil. I think this preparation is performed by distillation in laboratory.
But many of these essential oil are easy to find in pharmacy or bio shop ("Nature et Decouvertes" for ex.). |

Je vais mettre du thymol dans mes boites. J'utilise des flacons de médicament que je place à l'angle de la boite (tubes d'aspirines recoupés, au bouchon percé).
je trouve que ce produit sent très fort quand même, mais si c'est moins nocif et aussi efficace que le paradichlorobenzène, tant mieux. |

I knew that eucalyptus essence is used to repel clothes-moth, but I did not know it works against Dermestidae. I'll certainly try. |

Hello Vitali,
You have just to find a little mug (phial?), make a small hole on the cover and fill it by means of a "pipette" (see picture) with the essential oil.
To fix the mug on the box you can glue a drawing pin beneath the bottom.
Once on the collection box it doesn't smell a lot (I've about 180 collection boxes and the relevant room is without smell).

Bonjour Xavier,
Non, le thymol en cristaux est le même composé à base de phenol contenu dans plusieurs huiles essentielles dont le thym. Il a des vertus antiseptiques et antiparasitaires et n'est pas nocif a inhaler. |
