With no erect hairs, could it be Agelasta (Pseudagelasta) hirsuta Breuning, 1939 ? It has no erect hairs...

hirsuta means "hairy" ! I haven't this publication. How did you decide of this id without the description ? I do not understand.

I don't, could you send me the publication please? my email is in my profile. I identified it on the basis that it has no erect hairs.

Who determined this species? Do you have the publication related ? ( Breuning, 1939).

This has since been identified as a Male Agelasta hirsuta, Breuning 1939.

No erect hairs, I checked today. So possibly a new species?

Breuning (1938) separates the two subgenres (in a simplified way):
- elytra covered with erect hairs -> Mesosa(Perimesosa)
- elytra without erect hairs -> Mesosa(Aplocnemia)

So, Mesosa (Perimesosa) guttigera Holzschuh, 2018 should have erect hairs.

I have a female from Vietnam (similar to your specimen) without erect hairs.

Maybe Mesosa guttigera Holzschuh 2017?
Bennyboymothman Posted - 09/01/2021 : 22:29:33
Thanks, i'm not sure that fits though.
