Posted - 25/10/2015 : 16:30:33 Hi Gerard, I think you are on the right path...
When I visited the BMNH in 2010 & 2011, I took a lot of photographs with a small camera. My photos are not good, especially for small specimens. I'm posting a photo of the Holotype of Synelasma stellio here and on the type page. Of the 4 Synelasma types which I photographed, I think it is closest to your specimen. Despite a large number of Pteropliini species from Sabah, I do not appear to have any Synelasma, but then I have not studied them all closely. The holotype appears to have more pubescence, perhaps a reddish dust, on the pronotum. I think it is possible for Pteropliini to lose a little pubescence. So it is difficult to say anything based on photographs.
