Xavier Posted - 23/09/2018 : 20:51:24

12mm/13mm/11mm. Mt Dayaoshan, Guangxi, China. ( Thanks a lot, Len )
This species seems to be quite variable.

In his description, Gressitt wrote: " head clothed with rusty brown varied with buff and blackish-brown, a pair of narrow oblique lines on the former near lower end of frons "

Forget it (Niphona), this species is Pterolophia serrata Gressitt, 1938, with larger white spots.

Above, description of Niphona albofasciata Breuning, 1938. Size of this taxa seems longer, but I do not know this species, and I do not understand German.

Who can translate the text in English ?

Thanks for the data.
Sorry, but I see nothing in my mail box...

Xavier
I just recieved your email. Sorry I had not logged in for some days. Yes it really is from China. The data for this species is
Mt Dayaoshan 1100 m, Jinxiu Guangxi, China
I hope this helps

By the way Xavier I sent you an email through this forum a few days ago
Xavier Posted - 29/08/2018 : 08:21:51
This species seems very close to this one. Does it really come from China ?
Xavier Posted - 29/08/2018 : 07:40:40
"Pteropliini", because of some wrong tribes in the forum before ?...but Len sells beetles from around the world.
Xaurus Posted - 29/08/2018 : 01:02:26
what means L. Hart with the "wrong place" China ? or Pteropliini ?
Xavier Posted - 29/08/2018 : 00:02:52
I have checked more than 200 holotype pictures, all my books, and ...nothing with such white bands. Why not an undescribed species ?
Xaurus Posted - 28/08/2018 : 23:25:15
yes you are right Francesco this spm is more related to Pterolophia, and a very interesting one.
