I hear, the case is similar with many Pteropliini, Serixia, and many more... it seems in all the group wherever Breuning has laid his hand on to produce so called revisionary works! Lamiinae is a real mess indeed...really discouraging |

Posted - 14/01/2017 : 18:33:46 I miss many photos of Acanthocinini holotypes, and I believe it is almost impossible to determine the species of this tribe. Most of the time, descriptions fits with many different species...The Breuning revision is unusable, and I'm really discouraged. |

Posted - 14/01/2017 : 18:17:58 I was wondering if this could be Rondibilis sikkimensis...on comparing with the description given by Breuning (1977) the specimen match with it...the description as I understood is produced below...
Colour: Red, covered with yellowish brown pubescence; Apical third of tibia, tarsi and antennae with dark brown pubescence; Basal part of antennomeres 3 to 8 with gray pubescence.
Eyes: lower lobes two and half times longer than gena (which author of this post has to check and confirm)...
Pronotum: a little longer than broad, with a conical and obtuse lateral tubercle; Disk of the pronotum with two circular pre-median brown spots.
Elytra: sub-truncate at the apex; adorned with dark brown designs: On each a small circular spot before the shoulder(humerus I presume), a postscutellar oblique spot, followed by a pre-sutural spot and a sub-lateral spot at one fourth distance from the base, beyond the basal quarter a madian transverse band which does not reach the suture but which Extends along the lateral border, followed by two post-median spots: one sub-sutural and one sub-laterale, and finally a pre-apical spot...
but seeing the holotype here I'm lost... |
