Hello all
I am quite confused by this specimen I received from China.
Initially I thought it was Apriona swainsoni, a Female.
But on comparison with my other specimens I am now not very sure.
Are there regional differences in specimens?
Any help appreciated.

Data: Female - 25-05-14 - Mt Dayaoshan - 1200m - Pingban - Guangxi - China

Here is the specimen

311.16 KB

And here are my two specimens of Apriona swainsoni from Vietnam and Thailand respectively

Bato Mts - Quang Ngai Prov, 950m, Vietnam

Phrae Wang Shin, North Thailand

Hi Francesco.
I suspected this as I have the revision of the Apriona genus.
Thanks very much.

There are no other similar species in the area.
That of Vietnam might belong to the ssp. basicornis Fairmaire, 1895, but Jiroux was uncertain concerning its validity.
The last specimen might belong to the variety (once subspecies) pallescens Breuning.
