Picture is too bad. But I think it should be a male of Petromorphus yunnanus australis Bi, 2016.
A new genus and new subspecies from Yunnan.

Hi Jerome... I will contact you via personal email about this species later. I will try to get better photographs.
I think that a horizontal view shows the similarity to Falsotrachystola.
I do not Centruroides, but the only species in this genus is much larger (i.e. ~25 mm).
I have 2 specimens (14-15 mm). |

I saw that in the F asidiformis Lepesme collection there a few years ago I did not make a picture but I have to go back in 2015 to see some typus.
However, this individual reminds me more gender Centruroides that Falsotrachystola. Especially on 3 tubercles of the pronotum.
Watch the generic character of genres and 2 may be that we can approach the genre without too much trouble? |

I have looked through all of my literature.
This beetle resembles Falsotrachystola asidiformis (Pic, 1915) as illustrated in Breuning's revision of Morimopsini, and also F. torquata Holzschuh, 2007.
But it is smaller and the sculpturing at the base of the elytra is different. The lateral pronotal spines are similar and also the shape of the elytral apex.
