Sulawesi, 15 mm.
Is it Tmesisternus wallacei (Pascoe, 1858) female? Tmesisternus fulgens Breuning 1939?

Both sexes are quite similar from above (female: antennae quite a bit shorter + body something wider, this features are not remarkable, at least at my few spms), the females only have a flat longitudinal furrow at in the middle of the last sternite like in all Tmesisternus.

I don't see difference between male and femelle, that's why I ask you a picture (not this one that I know).

look at here: http://www.cerambycoidea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23590 - 1 male + 2 females of T. fulgens, with almost the same pronotum in both sexes !

Andreas, do you have a picture of a true couple of Tmesisternus fulgens Breuning, 1939 ? I don't really understand what this species is like.

Ok, merci Andreas.

sorry my mistake (to late yesterday), of couse a female of T. wallacei, fulgens has no pronotum extension in both sexes.
Xavier Posted - 11/12/2020 : 19:21:04
All specimens here have a tooth a side of the pronotum. Is it really the same species ?
Gerard Posted - 11/12/2020 : 19:07:01
What is the difference between the two species?
Xavier Posted - 11/12/2020 : 07:11:25
Merci !
