All over reddish brown, darker on pronotum + head.
Flat dorsally and finely vermiculate but brilliant.

Vietnam, 33 mm + mandibles.

The colour could depend on the picture. The main characteristic of Neoprion is the prothorax angulated at the sides.
This is the only species present in China and Indochina, while the other one - E. (Neoprion) parandraeformis (Lacordaire, 1869) - has a more western distribution and the prothorax of male with another shape.

O.k. this could be right, indeed. The colour of the specimen shown in your gallery is much more red but this can be due to the photo. The configuration of the pronotum (brilliant median part with dull areas around it) correspond to my specimen.

It should be a male of Eurypoda (Neoprion) batesi Gahan, 1894.
It is present in the gallery as well.
