I don't tell here what I am thinking about useless complications like this; the nature is full of dark zones and we really do not need additional confusions.

Dear Pierre, this new taxonomic change has been recently introduced by Santos-Silva in a very questionable paper, which I will insert in my library.
In the same paper, he revalued Protospondylis (a fossil I synonymised with Parandra) as "Cerambycidae incertae sedis", without observing the type and without providing reasons.

I have some papers (2002 / 2003) on Parandrinae, Santos-Silva has written a lot about these beetles. These notes appear to be rather complicated and the taxonomy of the different genera - subgenera constantly changes. According to your comments this one belongs now to Parandra s. str. again: o.k., I will take note of this.
A couple of years ago have received a pair from French Guyana labelled Hesparandra glabra... can you indicate the last up-to-date version of the Parandrinae - classification? |

With so large eyes, it is a Hesperandra (Zikandra), now again Parandra (s. str.).
The only species of this section coming from Peru is Parandra glabra (Degeer, 1774). This should be a female. |
