Anybody can confirm my idea for this beetles from Halmahera (Moluccas), size 18 mm: Aetholopus scalaris Pascoe, 1865

Holotype of A. scalaris is available on British Museum website.
I think that Aetholopus halmaheirae Breuning, 1982 is just a synonym of Aetholopus scalaris Pascoe, 1865.

yes Dan, you can use this picture for your paper, hope you can clarity if it scalaris or halmaheirae or both are even conspecifically !

Xaurus, regarding this specimen, do you still believe it is A. scalaris? I would like to include this photo in the upcoming paper if it's identity can be better verified. Perhaps it is A. halmaheirae? I have requested an image of the holotype of A. scalaris from the British Museum which I hope will resolve this matter.
