Hello for me is Oplatocera (Epioplatocera) oberthuri Gahan, 1906.
Oplatocera (Epioplatocera) mandibulata is endemic to Taiwan. |

Gerard, I don't think so. Oplatocera (Epioplatocera) oberthuri only has a big black spot on pronotum. |

Hello Nasa, your specimen is certainly NOT oberthuri Gahan. I agree with your diagnosis by making a connexion with mandibulata Miwa & Mitono!
As a fact, O. (Epioplatocera) mandibulata is not as endemic as usually admitted. I have on my desk series of specimen from Southern China like yours, but also from Vietnam and Laos, all belonging to this same item
I am actually studying the genus and it could turn out to be a subspecies of mandibulata - to be confirmed.

The difference between the buddhist and gregorian calendar is 543 years. So logically your beetle would have been collected in 1515...
