It is a blue variety of Brachysomida californica (LeConte, 1851).
This species is very variable (see here) and is constituted by several populations having fairly definite characters. This fact caused a very rich nomenclature (see here). Linsely and Chemsak (1972) simplistic synonymised all described forms (analogously to they did with the American Rhagium-species), but it is evident that a more deepened research should be do. |
