This specimen is also a good match in comparison to my photo of the type of Aristobia mixta (which is currently a synonym of A. umbrosa, too).

My photo of the type of A. umbrosa shows a very dark specimen with no orange coloring anywhere that I can see.

It may be that Aristobia pendleburyi is more closely related to A. umbrosa. Perhaps A. mixta or A. quadrifasciata should be a valid species?

There is no obvious way to understand what is in the literature.

As Dan supposed, A. pendleburyi has been considered as a synonym of A. umbrosa, and A. quadrifasciata revalided.
A. mixta has been considered as a morph (= variety) of quadrifasciata.
