I think it is something besides S. gahani, here is a specimen identified by Vives. Also, see the image in the book by Bentanachs, Vives & Bosuang (2012). The bright, light green area near the scutellum in the specimen from W. Malaysia is wider than the specimen identified by Vives and also the illustrated specimen.
S. gahani is not yet recorded from W. Malaysia, only Sumatra & Borneo, although those areas are relatively close to W. Malaysia.

Your photo, Dan, is obviously much better than the one in the book (as well the one in the original paper). Now it looks differently. Do you know more about the specimen from Sumatra? In my opinion, if some species lives in Borneo as well as Sumatra, it should be distributed also in W Malaysia, which is almost in between.
I might have about 100 specimens of Stenochroma, Crassichroma, Hayasichroma etc from W. Malaysia and it will be hard work to determine them. |

The type locality of S. gahani is Sumatra. I have no idea what the specimen from W. Malaysia (above) is. I might have something like it in my collection, however I don't have everything organized :(
I have sent undetermined specimens from Sabah to Joan Bentanachs about 2 years ago. He might be able to help.
Of course, the species from Borneo can easily occur in Sumatra, Java and West Malaysia since the land was connected when the sea level was lower during recent ice ages ( about 18000 years ago ) |

Ok, but until I will see the type (is it in Brusell?) I cannot be sure about S. gahani.
I have no idea if the species in 2009 paper is from Sumatra or Borneo. |
