Potemnemus sepicanus Kriesche, 1923 pour le nom complet. L'holotype femelle est présenté dans la révision du genre : WALLIN H. & KVAMME T., 2015. A review of the genus Potemnemus Thomson, 1864 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) with description of a new species from Papua New Guinea.
