Exactly! According to Gressitt's monograph about this genus (you can download it here), Thranius bimaculatus Pascoe, 1859 is the only species present in Borneo.

Not a good choice, in my view.
T. sumatrensis would suit better to this specimen.

You're right! The dehiscent elytra belong just to this species.
It is a specimen a little lighter than one present in the gallery.
Pay attention that the description year of this species is 1907 and not 1895, as Gressitt mentioned.

Well, personally I'm more interested in the identity of the attach specimen - I found it in Sabah just a few days ago.
The key of Gressitt is not very helpful in this case.
