Dear Kariyanna ,
It is not necessary to use "reply with quote" for each message (it is heavy for the reader). You can just use "reply to topic " down the page.

Is it, then some extent colour variation will matter to identify this species, right?

No, neither me.

Probably, but I did not read Sama's paper about this topic.
Have you got it?

This is one should be the species described by Gardner.
By contrast, the species described by Gahan should probably be kept in Hypoeschrus.

Noserius indicus (Gahan, 1906) is a completely brown species with a different habitus (e.g. apical spines, elytral ridges):

Hypoeschrus indicus Gahan, 1906: Fig. 41

Thank you very much Xavier..

Not easy, but I try to explain :

Gardner(1939) has described a species as Noserius indicus.

Gahan's species Hypoëschrus indicus Gahan, 1906 is became Noserius indicus (Gahan, 1906)

So, Martins changed Gardner's species in Noserius gardneri Martins, 1980

If the ID is ok for your species, the correct name is Noserius gardneri Martins, 1980

Thank you Xavier,

Whether is this Noserius indicus or Noserius gardneri? (sorry it is bit confusing for me! so?)
