Posted - 08/10/2014 : 16:50:19 I just received a mail by Alexandr Miroshnikov stating that this species is Clytellus shibatai Hayashi, 1977.
Thank you a lot, Alexandr! |

Posted - 09/07/2013 : 20:02:24 mmmhm... difficult. However, you can download the key to the Malayan Clytellus provided by Hayashi here (last page).
P.s. Many compliments for your second star!!!

Posted - 08/07/2013 : 19:57:52 I don't have the specimen for this case, so I couldn't be sure. As far as I can tell from the picture, there is a short post-scutellum elevation running longitudinally and somewhat obliquely for a short length. The remaining area of elytra seems pretty smooth (the line reflections on the glabrous elytra can be tricky; they are the reflections of the legs).
This is a small beetle. Somewhat larger than Exocentrus sp, so it is around 6mm in length. Sorry, couldn't be more exact. |

Posted - 07/07/2013 : 18:50:37 I need some informations: 1) Are the elytra longitudinally ridged? 2) Body size? |
