Hi everyone.
This striking beetle is just off my spreading plastazote, an Anameromorpha sp but which one?

Data: 04-2014 - Mt Bawang 1400m - West Kalimantan - Indonesia

Thanks again.
Ben

The specimen is probably an aberrant form.

I'm not impatient; I just show a link !

Jiroux is publishing a paper about Pseudomyagrus in next Cahiers.... let's all be patient and get his opinion.

Holotype picture of Pseudomyagrus waterhousei (Gahan, 1888) is here.

Hello all.
Many thanks for the discussion. Strange specimens indeed if they are P. waterhousei.
Just to add to the discussion, I just went to my collection and found my pair of P. waterhousei and put them alongside this specimen.
Here is the picture.
I did consider Anameromorpha metallica initially.

I have seen only 4 or 5 Pseudomyagrus from Sabah. I have seen specimen(s) from Kalimantan on Ebay and they look very similar. Only the blue color might be a little darker or a little lighter. Perhaps that can be effected by killing chemicals. A photo of one in my collection is here below. For me it is very difficult to say that it is a different species than P. waterhousei.

Eric Jiroux and I discussed the Bornean species before and we both agree that if there were a large number of specimens available for study, perhaps a conclusion could be reached.

For now, I just consider it as P. waterhousei, but potentially something more.

Only three species in the genus Anameromorpha: 2 of them from Vietnam/ Laos (holotypes from MNHN Paris in the section) and one in Malaisia (Borneo):

Anameromorpha pollinosa Holzschuh, 2009 HT male

So, your specimen is none of those 3 known species.
