In my opinion, they are female and male of M. tonkinensis.
M. assamensis is this specimen from Assam, well corresponding to these specimens.

yes, I agree, maybe anybody can provide a type picture of M. assamensis (BMNH) !
features like this mentioned by Breuning are not helpful for identifications  |

Laos(Luang Prabang). Here a male. Female above is a little dirty, but same white spots an bands, same inferior lobe eyes, etc.
I think that this one is Macrochenus tonkinensis, with different white bands on face, different lobe eyes, etc.
In Breuning revision:
M.tonkinensis & M.assamensis quite similar, but:
inferior lobe eyes longer than cheek -> M.tonkinensis
inferior lobe eyes as long as cheek -> M.assamensis |

such spms I have ID as Macrochenus tonkinensis Aurivillius, 1920 in my coll., any type picture could be helpful, Psacothea inarmata: http://smithsoniancerambycidae.com/default.asp?Action=Show_Types&Single_Type=True&TypeID=1467 is a synonym, but really ??
Xavier's spm looks like a female (with shorter pronotum and legs ?)
