There is next problem with interesting beetle It don`t like me as Pterolophia but small Niphona or something around From Thailand, Chantaburi prov., Khao Kitchakut, male, 13 mm.
This animal have a very peculiar hind tibia (hind only and on the upper surface only). I`m afraid this feature not so apparent on photo - it`s cavity (gutter-like on the base of tibia) without any pubescence. The spines on the fore coxa unordinary too.. Help, please |

Posted - 13/03/2015 : 10:10:07 This character is an apomorphy that you can find in several genera of Pteropliini: Niphona, Prosoplus s. str. and subgenus Escharodes (both absurdly synonymised with Rhythiphora by Slipinsky)... and Pterolophia as well! Pterolophia seems to me the right genus. |
