Captured in the wood from Nigeria.
Do you have the ID?
Thanks!

Thanks! I also agree with you.
I can not see distinct differences of both species based on the pictures of Allard except the color.

This is certanly not the holotype of gabonensis but Thomson's drawing of a specimen from Gabon! Cf. here.
I have not Breuning's original description, but according to Allard, gabonensis is characterised by whitish, rather that coloured, pubescence.
It seems to me that populations are actually mixed; thus, I doubt about the validity of this subspecies.

I feel confused! What about the holotype of Freadelpha eremita gabonensis Breuning, 1954?
Is Larry's database wrong?

That by Westwood is the typical form, yours should be the ssp. gabonensis Breuning.
Here both subspecies from Allard's book.

Freadelpha eremita eremita & F. eremita gabonenis in Allard, 1993

Here is the picture by Westwood (1844)

Does it exist variation in body color?

Thanks, Francesco!

It seems to be Freadelpha (s. str.) eremita (Westwood, 1845).
Cf. here.
