Now I read the topic "Saraburi, XI.1988, Thailande".
Attached specimen was collected in Selangor by myself.
Inspite of Gerard's one is labeled "Cameron Highlands", this species distribute in Peninsular Malaysia at least.

C. spinosus seems likely to be a synonym of C. aureolineatus. It is too soon to say with absolute proof.
Yokoi and I are doing another paper on Dorcaschematini planned to be published in 2018. There are some remaining new species, new subspecies, and if C. spinosus is a synonym, then we will publish it as such. Yokoi has examined nearly all of the holotypes of this tribe.
The discussion on Sariburi has certainly explained some curious patterns of distribution. |

Manifestement, le post sur Saraburi ne plait pas à tout le monde.
Cependant, je ne suis pas du tout décidé à me laisser impressionner ou égarer par des approximations vaseuses. C'est même l'inverse ; l'adversité est...motivante  |

Décidément on en sort pas ! je vais finir par croire que la Thailande et Borneo étaient côte-à-côte il y a peu de temps ! |

I just starting to understand something (may be I am wrong):
- Holotype of Cylindrepomus spinosus Hüdepohl, 1990 has been "collected" in "south Thailand" by Sabine Steinke. (see here)
- Other specimens come from ... Borneo like on this page
What could be the conclusion?? |

For Titan base both species are valid and not synonym.
C. aureolineatus from Sarawak / Borneo and C. spinosus from Thailand. |

Females have an acuminate elytral apex. Males do not.
Here is a male C. aureolineatus from Sabah (Borneo).
I have seen numerous specimens of both sexes. |

I think Gerard's one is Cylindrepomus spinosus Hüdepohl 1990.
Elytral apex has longer teeth in C. aureolineatus. |

Hallo Gerard. this spec. is determined by A. Weigel as Cylindrepomus aureolineatus Dillon & Dillon, 1947, 18 mm and from Trus Madi. |
