In effetti è un po' più scuro, molto grande (42 mm) viene da Sao Tomè.

Si tratta di un maschio di Neoplocaederus spinicornis (Fabricius, 1781).
C'è un po' di confusione riguardo al nome di questa specie, a volta chiamata Plocaederus denticornis Olivier, 1795.
La nomenclatura era stata già chiarita da Gahan quasi 120 anni fa, ma poi autori successivi hanno riportato entrambi i nomi o fornito immagini di esemplari determinati erroneamente.

Is it spinicornis?
I don't see any spines on antennae...maybe they are oriented underneath, so they are not visible on this picture?
If not, it is different from spinicornis: (http://www.cerambycoidea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=408).
The pronotum sculpture looks different too.

I have lost this topic.
I identified this specimen as such since it was the only species recorded from Sao Thomé in a publication about the local fauna. Actually, I have some doubts concerning N. fucatus...
I have to search the original descriptions in order to separate both species. One of both might be erroneous.

This specimen belongs evidently to Neoplocaederus fucatus (Thomson, 1858).
I have got another specimen from I. Principe.
