Tanzania again.

A very elegant large (around 40 mm) species.
Velvety black at pronotum and elytral base.

Thank you very much , Pierre, this is the first record of this species on the Web!
I have read that Schmidt (1922) quoted 22-34 mm for this species... Vitali has got a giant specimen!

Not that giant. I gave only approximate size in the first posting. The exact measures of my three beetles are 30, 34 and 36 mm.
