Voici une étrange espèce que je ne peux résister à vous présenter !
taille = 29,5 mm
Je suis désolé Xavier, mais ma photo originale de l'étiquette est droite, je n'arrive pas à la télécharger dans le même sens !

En effet comme l'écrit Dan ce genre ressemble beaucoup à Blosyropus. C'est un groupe très particulier. |

This genus should belong to Phlyctaenodini, as correctly reported in BioLib. |

Broun (1880) described this species in the genus Blosyropus.
In 1883, Broun described a new genus and re-named B. simpliceps as Ptychopterus rugosus. However, Ptychopterus was already a genus of Cleridae.
In KIRKALDY, G. W. 1910, On some preoccupied generic names in insects. The Canadian Entomologist. page 8; proposed the replacement name of Nesoptychias for Ptychopterus.
Nesoptychias thus has priority over Pteroptychus Aurivillius, 1912.
If this is confusing, I understand.
Unfortunately, TITAN does not have the correct name. I would appreciate someone telling Gerard, as my emails to him usually fail.
The correct name should be Nesoptychias simpliceps (Broun, 1880)
Also, I do not understand how this came to be in Callidiopini. It is possibly related to Blosyropus as Broun originally stated.
Whatever the case is, both Nesoptychias and Blosyropus are nice looking cerambycids. |
